The food used to be good here - not now. The two vegetarian dishes we ordered were all sauce and no veg. Two pieces of potato in the potato dish and three bits of eggplant - terrible. The veg korma was not much better. Not good value. Mild is too mild - virtually no spice at all. The naan however was lovely. Not going back
Really great Indian food! I highly recommend the masala dosa and idli’s for lunch on weekends. So tasty and probably the best place in Brisbane for southern Indian food.
The masala dosa was large and crispy and the spicy potato filling was just perfect to our seasoned taste-buds. The sambar and the two chutneys complemented the idli and masala dosa very well. We also
This place was recommended to me by a lady from work and we loved it! So close to home too. The service was really friendly and food was delicious. I’m probably not the most authentic judge of Indian cuisine because I always order butter chicken and naan bread and that’s how I judge... but Shanti’s version of both these items was tops.
and a tasty masala dosa.Naans were good as were the eggplant and potato curry and rojan josh and tasty butter chicken. Will definetly go back when in Brisbane.
Shantis has been good to me lately. I was determined to make this my regular Indian joint after my previous favourite mysteriously closed down. Unfortunately last Sunday’s take away was terrible. I’ve been scorned by Shanti’s in the past but I have forgiven them given they got new management in. But this is it, I’m not going back. You’ve done your dash! I’ve never been the biggest fan of Shanti’s naan but they’ve been at least edible for previous orders. This time naan was flat out terrible, you can see from the photo that it was rolled in a ball and then dried out before being flattened for cooking. It was dry, old and crap. It was a plain naan but should have some butter on it. The curries were thin and scant for anything but watery gravy. The kadai paneer dish had exactly seven pieces of paneer in it, not even big pieces. The tomato and eggplant dish had barely any eggplant, still tasty but it was all tomato. Rogan josh, my normal favourite, was tasty but again, barely any lamb in it. The chef special curry was so thin, watery and all gravy. Oh and the family deal came with around 40ml of raita to share... yay, we all got a taste. One of the rice was old and dry, I think it was frozen and then reheated (?) the other a completely different colour was nice and fresh. So so disappointed, and a bit embarrassed, especially after raving about our amazing local Indian to our guests.
Our meals comprised string hoppers (served with sothi and spicy sambol), masala dosa and idli. The dosa and idli were served with sambar and chutneys. We had salty lassi, mango lassi and a strawberry
The idly and the masala dosa were served with coconut sambal, pudina sambal and lentil sambar. These complemented the idly and masala dosa in variations of taste and spiciness. For drinks we had
Thali – Yellow basmati rice, Poori, sambar, rasam, raitha, potato, chick peas, aubergine, and hot spicy chicken curry. The rice was perfectly cooked - grainy and yet soft. The poori was not puffy as

Went here last night and had a goat vindaloo and chicken madras. It was very easy to tell that both curries were cooked from scratch and I seriously have never had a better madras by a country mile.
