the kids demolished the apple pies fresh out of the oven.. we will be stopping here again on our trips south. The staff are very friendly. They also sell a range of locally made jams and condiments.
Advertised outside the shops as having the world’s best pies, we had high expectations for this place. I ordered the beef and wine pie (expensive at $6.90 a pie) as this was the award winning flavour at the Robertson pie shop (which I missed out on) and was also a hit at Kangaroo valley. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me, I found the wine flavour too strong and the pie smaller than expected (there was also not a lot of meat inside) The pastry was also very flaky (personal preference). The store had an interesting interior, part homely feeling and part old fashion Lolly shop. There’s outdoors and indoors seating. Overall, I would recommend Gumnut Patisserie Pies if anyone is after a good pie in the southern highlands.
We can also recommend the coffee, the apple pie and the sausage rolls!! We will certainly be back for any special occasion - we will order ahead and travel the 90 minutes from Sydney to collect what

Definitely a homemade pie, rather than the standard shortcrust job. The homemade feel extends also to the interior and exterior of this rural gem. It’s a little piece of meticulously preserved history. It’s clearly where the locals get their pies too
Just wish that we would have bought the apple pie. They were on the counter and just down right beautiful. You really don't need to try the pies in the town, but have fun if you are doing a test. And
Well, we had to try a a meat pie and glad that we did. It was outstanding. We should have known because of the number of people that were there and continued in to buy their pies. This place is worth
Saw this old Pie shop on our way to Kangaroo Valley and I thought, I could not 'not' stop-by especially when it says "Best Pie in the World" as they claim. Had to check it out. It was quite full of people inside when we got there and saw that there is a 'back room' so I asked the lady if we can maybe squeeze in there, I was with my family that time.So when we went inside, we were surprised at how vintage it looked like, there were like this small room of library full of old books, candle wax and Kodak films (who still uses films?!). Anyway, I find it really awesome that they keep some vintage stuff in there which gives place more character. So we sat beside the window, I think it was made of alloy or shell, with dirty-white curtain illuminating the sun, while we eat our hot home-made pie. It was delicious really, tasty juicy and hot. It was a shame tho that their beef-wine pie had ran out when we arrived. So just got the chilli con carne and lamb, which were fairly good. I would come back here next time, hopeful to try their beef-wine pie! >,<
I liked this place mostly because of the lady at the counter who was very friendly and chatty. The pies were not bad. Very flaky and nice crust with mushy goodness inside. I could easily eat two!
Just as the sign says , wonderful pies highly recommend I had the chicken pie and took some apple pies home for later. Great stopover quaint shop lovely staff Thanks.
Saw a sign in the middle of no where saying "worlds best pies" so as a curious kiwi I decided to try and lord have mercy the pies and sausage rolls are amazing I also took one of each for the ride home.
I got the standard meat pie and my husband got the chicken pie... $6.95 each they are a large size but its pastry is WRONG WRONG WRONG- the top has these pastry bits that are uncooked and now its not

Chicken mushroom is simply out of the world. nice cosy place - we prefer to sit outside though. country style - looks out to nice open greenery
Only tried the Aussie meat pie.
Self proclaimed "the world's best pies" - this place sure is popular because by the time we got there around 1pm, the only pies they had left were the lamb & vegetable and chilli con carne. The pies are encased in puff pastry, which was flaky and nice but a bit on the thin side. My chilli con carne pie was quite spicy, overall it's not bad. The shop also sells a variety of gourmet foods, it's got a charming old world feel and outdoor seating to a beautiful view of the kangaroo valley.
$47 for 5 drinks, 2 sausage rolls and 3 pies. There was only 3 varieties left and for some reason she felt the need to shout at the next member of our party who entered and enquired about the hot food.
I had a chicken pie for the first time and it was delicious. Of course my favourite are still the apple pies. Ask for them to be warmed in the pie warmer while you enjoy your savoury pie on the deck
